Wild and Olive was created by Angela Wilder in 2017 in anticipation of her third and last bird, Oliver, leaving the nest. Angela has been cultivating her philosophy of life and beauty since she was a child, building Barbie houses out of discarded cardboard boxes, sewing tiny bed linens by hand for the furniture and pasting leftover scraps of wallpaper on the walls.
Angela's first business was at the age of eleven, making patchwork pillows for her extended family members and their friends for twenty dollars a pillow. She traveled extensively through Europe by the time she was fifteen and feels those travels at such an impressionable age contributed significantly to her passion for all things home and garden.
Angela's focus while creating Wild and Olive was and is to concentrate on smaller, hand-batch, as ordered artisans from all over the world as well as small and young companies that focus on repurposing, recycling and donating a percentage of their proceeds to earth, animal and human-friendly causes.
Not to overlook, of course, companies that can provide a natural and quality product that helps Wild and Olive achieve the goal of offering a range of items rich in texture, color and depth to beautify your home.
Angela lives in Nevada City, California, a tiny gold mining town in Northern California. When she's not shopping for home goods, upcycled, new and vintage, she's thrifting, updating her 1988 farmhouse, fostering rescue pups and homesteading on her land with her four rescue dogs a cat, eight chickens and two ducks.
